If you were in the LA music scene from the mid 70's to 2000 you probably ran across Mike – you just wouldn’t recognize him now.  Back then Mike was a long-haired leopard print spandex-clad rocker.  In addition to playing guitar in a number of bands throughout LA, Mike also wrote and produced a rock musical and wrote music for a movie score.  Mike moved to Lotus, cut his hair, bought baggy shorts, and started playing bass for Lumadae.  He also shares songwriting and harmony vocals with the band.  His style is influenced by Led Zeppelin and Rush…Getty Lee looms large in Mike’s world.

Louis’s music “career” started in Santa Rosa CA at the age of 10 singing and playing trumpet.  Louis spent his formative years as river-guide (god) running rivers throughout the western US.  During that period he developed his guitar playing and songwriting style with influences from John Hiatt, James Taylor, and Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young.  Over the years he has performed with a number of bands playing western swing, traditional folk and current acoustic-based music.  In addition to playing guitar, Louis is a talented guitar builder – he made the guitar he plays with Lumadae.  A founding member of Lumadae, he and Dave have been playing music together for more than 15 years.

A Native of Baltimore MD, Otto started playing drums when he was 10. He was that kid you saw laying a beat on anything and everything.  In the 80's and 90's Otto toured the east coast playing reggae, calypso, and soka music.  His main music influence is RTF (Return to Forever) – the quintessential jazz/fusion group.  His favorite drummer…duh, Billy Cobham.  Otto took a hiatus from playing professionally but connected back into the local music scene when he moved to Placerville.  After sitting in with a few bands he joined with Lumadae, bringing a new approach and energy to their music.

Born and raised in the San Francisco bay area, Dave had the opportunity to experience some of that classic SF sound first-hand.  In fact, one of his earliest ambitions was to be a”hippie”… almost made it.  It’s no surprise that his primary music influence is the Greatful Dead (check out his guitar).  With Louis, and the original percussionist Mark, Dave founded Lumadae.  Before Lumadae his “performing” instrument was the bass and he played a range of music - traditional jazz, fusion, Dixieland jazz, bluegrass, folk, and rock with an assortment of bands throughout Northern California.
